The Fol-De-Rol (French for “foolishness”) takes place June 4-7 at Wampus Brook Town Park, 41 Wampus Ave., and will feature a light-hearted weekend of rides, food vendors, and entertainment, as well as pet and car parades. The Armonk Lions Club has used the event for more than 40 years to raise funds for various projects serving local, county, national and international communities. Joshua Powell, age 30, of Stamford, was charged by Norwalk Police on Thursday, Aug. 10. During May 2023, the Special Services Division began receiving information that Powell was selling large quantities of powder and crack cocaine that contained fentanyl within the City of Norwalk, said Norwalk Police Deputy Chief Terrence Blake. An investigation was initiated into Powell’s narcotics trafficking enterprise. Over the next several months, investigators made numerous controlled narcotics purchases from Powell, Blake said.

Suffolk County Police said a 51-year-old Hauppauge woman was driving a 2020 Volkswagen westbound on Jericho Turnpike when she attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot at 6070 Jericho Turnpike and collided with a 2017 Kawasaki motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, Jordan Aristondo, of Commack, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Volkswagen was not injured.
