NEW YORK – According to Reuters the New York Jets football team on Wednesday said it had dropped its roughly 10-year-long fight to build a $2 billion stadium on Manhattan's West Side. The team refused to quit despite a number of obstacles, including community opposition, lawsuits and finally, the state's rejection of a financing plan. In a letter to the state transit agency that owns the land, the Jets contended that the city was losing out on 18,000 construction jobs, 7,000 permanent jobs and over $1 billion in new tax revenue.

The newspaper deliveryman, though, was the one who called 9-1-1 when he saw flames coming from the second story window of the home on the 100 block of Fairview Avenue, around 3:25 a.m., Nov. 23, police said. Hatboro Sgt. Aaron Simon and Officer Robert McMahon forced their way into the home through a back door, and began yelling to alert any occupants of the fire, police said. EAA’s President, Olivier Toth, announced the news welcoming new members to the fold at the organization’s annual Spring General Meeting held at the Accor Arena in Paris.
