Combative Patient At Somers Residence For Disabled People Hospitalized: Police

The incident happened on Monday evening, Jan. 22, when a resident at Opengate Inc., a residence for intellectually and developmentally disabled people in Somers at 29 Warren St., became combative, according to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.  State troopers soon responded to the residence and transported the patient to Putnam Hospital without further incident.  Staff members suffered minor injuries in the incident but were not hospitalized, Hicks said.

Frederick County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to a stretch of the interstate near Doctor Perry Road shortly before 6 a.m., where a truck was fully engulfed in flames, forcing a closure of all lanes in the area. Officials said that the bulk of the fire was knocked down before 7:30 a.m., but crews were still knocking down hotspots and were waiting for a truck to tow the tractor-trailer away.

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Live Nation Entertainment and PayPal Holdings announced a new multi-year partnership that will see PayPal cast as the Preferred Payments Partner of Ticketmaster. As part of the deal, fans will be able to make purchases with PayPal, PayPal Pay Later products, and Venmo across Ticketmaster’s platform. Additionally, PayPal will become Ticketmaster’s primary payment processor, which will speed up check out times and allows fans to purchase event add-ons like merchandise and parking.

Police say a man, pictured in the video above, entered a home under construction on Wilson Avenue during the night of Friday, July 26 and stole power tools. The man allegedly left the residence and subsequently returned to steal more tools. The total property is valued at $1,000, according to police. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for any information that leads to an arrest.
