The incident happened on Monday evening, Jan. 22, when a resident at Opengate Inc., a residence for intellectually and developmentally disabled people in Somers at 29 Warren St., became combative, according to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.
State troopers soon responded to the residence and transported the patient to Putnam Hospital without further incident.
Staff members suffered minor injuries in the incident but were not hospitalized, Hicks said.
Frederick County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to a stretch of the interstate near Doctor Perry Road shortly before 6 a.m., where a truck was fully engulfed in flames, forcing a closure of all lanes in the area.
Officials said that the bulk of the fire was knocked down before 7:30 a.m., but crews were still knocking down hotspots and were waiting for a truck to tow the tractor-trailer away.

Police say a man, pictured in the video above, entered a home under construction on Wilson Avenue during the night of Friday, July 26 and stole power tools.
The man allegedly left the residence and subsequently returned to steal more tools. The total property is valued at $1,000, according to police.
